Bobby does the double
at sja awards
Noah Media Group are delighted to have won ’the double’ at the British Sports Journalism awards 2018 for their feature documentary about the life of the late England football manager Sir Bobby Robson.
Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager took awards for Noah in both broadcast categories it was nominated for, “Broadcast Production Team”, and “Television Sport Factual or Feature”, beating out extremely tough competition, including Amazon Prime Video’s All or Nothing: Manchester City, Shoulder to Shoulder by TBI Media and 3 Rock Productions and Netflix’s Sunderland ’Til I Die.
Gabriel Clarke, Chief Creative Officer of Noah Media Group and Director, Writer, Producer for Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager said: “Thank you to all at the SJA for these two prestigious awards. It is a fantastic recognition of just how deeply the film resonated not just with football fans but lovers of documentary. Bobby Robson’s influence stretched well beyond his sport and lives on today. Our goal was to capture not just his unmatched career and love for life but his stunning legacy. The SJA double is also a tribute to the production team at Noah Media Group, the vision of cinematographer Andy White and creativity of editor Steve Williams.”
CEO of Noah Media Group and Producer for Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager, John McKenna said: “We’re delighted to get this recognition from the SJA for our Bobby Robson film. To win in such a strong category against such incredible documentaries is fantastic. For a film about Sir Bobby to win a Team Award seems really fitting.”
Noah Media Group would like to thank the SJA for these awards and hopes that everyone who has and will watch Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager feels the same sense of appreciation and connection to the great man and inspirational sporting figure it portrays. The making of this film would also not have been possible without the help and support of Lady Elsie Robson and Mark Robson, and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, to whom Noah are extremely grateful and would like to thank especially. A special thank you is also extended to Newcastle United FC, Ipswich Town FC, FC Barcelona, The FA, George Caulkin, Ian Payne, Henry Winter and Paul Hayward who helped in supporting the film during production and upon release.
Noah Media Group feels these awards recognise the quality of work the company produces within the UK and international sports media landscape. Noah Media Group will continue to strive to produce the best films and sports television content and is excited for the future of the company and its upcoming projects.
